AMS 4928 covers Ti-6Al-4V (6Al-4V, Ti 6-4) supplied as bars, wire, forgings, rings, and drawn shapes in the annealed condition. As the aerospace “workhorse” titanium, Ti-6Al-4V combines high strength-to-weight, excellent corrosion resistance, and good formability and weldability, making it a standard choice for flight-critical hardware and premium industrial parts.
High strength at low weight → lighter structures without sacrificing performance
Corrosion resistance → reliable service in marine and chemical environments
Alpha-beta alloy → responsive to heat treatment and hot forming
Good weldability and machinability (similar to austenitic stainless, with proper tooling)
Aircraft turbine engine and airframe components
Aerospace fasteners and structural fittings
Motorsport (F1) parts needing strength and temperature capability
Medical devices (per buyer specs)
Marine hardware, shafts, propulsors
Round Bar – common diameters from ~0.1875″ up to large-diameter bar (custom on request)
Flat/Square Bar – multiple thickness/width combinations
Wire – coil or straightened cut lengths
Forgings & Rings – near-net shapes to reduce machining
Cut-to-size & finish options (turning, trepanning, saw cutting)
Need a specific size or tolerance? We provide tight-tolerance cutting, lot traceability, and test reports per PO.

Exact melt chemistry and minor elements per purchase order/spec sheet.
Strength: high specific strength; annealed material offers balanced strength/ductility
Service temperature: commonly referenced from −350°F to 750°F (−210°C to 400°C)
Heat treatability: alpha-beta alloy supports additional heat treatments for tailored properties
Final mechanical values vary with section size, orientation, and lot. We supply MTRs and testing per AMS 4928 and buyer notes.
Hot forming enables complex shapes with consistent microstructure
Weldable with appropriate procedures and cleanliness controls
Machining requires sharp tooling, controlled speeds/feeds, and coolant management
Cross specs: AMS 4911, MIL-T-9047, Boeing DMS 1570, PWA-S-4928
Heat treat reference: AMS 4965
Related spec: AMS-T-9047 (historical → superseded by various AMS docs)
Supply with full certification per AMS 4928
Optional UT inspection per order (AMS 2631 guidance)
Traceability: heat/lot, chemistry, and mechanicals included
