AMS 4907 covers Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitial) in sheet and strip (often supplied as plate, too). It’s engineered for high strength-to-weight, consistently low interstitial content for fracture toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance—a strong fit for marine, naval and offshore hardware where seawater, chlorides, and fatigue demand better performance.
Alloy family: Ti-6Al-4V ELI (α-β titanium alloy)
Product forms: Sheet, Strip (plate available from many mills/service centers)
Condition: Annealed to deliver toughness and reliable forming/welding
Use cases: Submarine structures, ROV frames, seawater-exposed panels, valves, fasteners, hull inserts, and naval vessel components needing light weight + long life
Final acceptance values are per purchase order and the latest revision of the spec. The figures below reflect commonly published ranges for AMS 4907 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI).
| Element | Typical Range / Max |
|---|---|
| Aluminum (Al) | 5.5–6.5% |
| Vanadium (V) | 3.5–4.5% |
| Oxygen (O) | ≤ 0.13% (ELI control) |
| Iron (Fe) | ≤ 0.25% |
| Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.08% |
| Nitrogen (N) | ≤ 0.05% |
| Hydrogen (H) | ≤ 0.0125% |
| Yttrium (Y) | ≤ 0.005% |
| Others (total) | ≤ 0.40% |
| Titanium (Ti) | Balance |
| Property | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| 0.2% Yield Strength | ~115–120 ksi |
| Ultimate Tensile Strength | ~125–130 ksi |
| Elongation | ~6–10% |
Notes: ELI cleanliness supports fracture toughness and fatigue in cyclic, chloride-rich service.
A tenacious oxide film gives excellent corrosion resistance in natural seawater, splash zones, and brine environments.
The ELI limit on interstitials (especially O and H) enhances toughness and damage tolerance—valuable for pressure-bearing parts and welded fabrications.
Well-proven with GTAW/GMAW (inert shielding required). Good formability in the annealed condition for panels, trays, flanges, and stiffeners.
Subsea/ROV: frames, housings, pressure covers
Naval vessels & subs: structural inserts, fairings, corrosion-critical panels
Valves & pumps: seawater-contact components, fasteners, stems
Offshore: splash-zone plates, riser accessories, clamps
Also used in: aerospace skins/brackets, motorsport, medical hardware
| Spec | Material / Form | Best Used When |
|---|---|---|
| AMS 4907 | Ti-6Al-4V ELI — Sheet/Strip (Annealed) | Toughness, fatigue, and welded marine fabrications |
| AMS 4911 | Ti-6Al-4V (Gr 5) — Sheet/Strip/Plate (Annealed) | General aerospace & industrial where ELI not required |
If your drawing cites ELI, AMS 4907 is the correct route.
Important: AMS 4907 is not a beta titanium alloy; it’s α-β Ti-6Al-4V ELI. If your project requires beta titanium (e.g., Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al, Ti-13V-11Cr-3Al, or Beta-C), ask for those by their specific AMS numbers.
Pan-India supply of AMS 4907 sheet/strip (and plate from service stock)
Cut-to-size, leveling, deburring, export-grade packaging
Documentation: full MTRs, heat/lot traceability, optional UT, hardness, microstructure
Compliance: DFARS/ROHS/REACH and naval clauses available on request
Welding: Strict argon shielding (front & back purge), immaculate prep to avoid alpha-case and hydrogen pickup.
Forming: Annealed stock forms well with generous radii and proper lubrication.
Machining: Sharp tooling, moderate speeds, high coolant flow to manage heat/work hardening.
Cleaning: Prefer non-chlorinated cleaners; preserve/passivate the oxide film post-fabrication.

ELI cleanliness and seawater resistance for demanding offshore and naval projects.

MTRs with chemistry/mechanicals; optional UT, hardness, and micro per PO.
